While a dedicated space for wine may seem wonderfully decadent, it has a vital role to play. Wine is fussy about how it’s housed, and will be at its drinking best if it’s been properly looked after. Caple wine coolers, fridges & cabinets ensure your wine is kept at the optimum temperature and humidity, with UV-proof glass, the right level of air circulation and low-vibration technology (so the wine isn’t disturbed until you’re ready to pour it).

For the ultimate entertainer, an impressive freestanding wine cooler will be the main attraction of your kitchen. If cohesive aesthetics is your thing, an integrated wine fridge will seamlessly blend in with your other appliances. Or, by far, our most popular range: the under-counter wine cooler, our most extensive collection of integrated wine coolers. Take your pick. We’ve got you covered.

    FAQs for Wine Coolers

    What is a wine cooler?

Our wine coolers are specially developed to preserve the flavour of your wine and maintain the ideal serving temperature. So, if you want to guarantee that the contents of your meticulously selected collection remain delicious for longer, a dedicated wine cooler is an excellent investment. It’s the most economical way to store your bottles in optimal conditions at home. Wine storage and serving can be difficult but keeping a wine cabinet eliminates all the guesswork. This way, you’ll get the best out of your reds, whites, rosés and Champagnes.

What’s the difference between a wine cooler and a fridge?

Kitchen fridges tend to have inconsistent temperatures due to frequent door openings. The lack of moisture may dry out the cork of your favourite wines, causing air to enter the bottle, and harming the contents. A wine cooler, on the other hand, maintains a consistent temperature, which ensures that your wine is stored and served at its optimum condition. You won’t have to worry about damaging the flavour of your best-loved wines, so you and your guests can enjoy every bottle!

What are the different types of wine coolers?

Single temperature wine coolers store wine at a consistent temperature between 5ºC – 18ºC, which is convenient for serving and storing.

A multiple-zone temperature wine cooler is an excellent choice for long-term storage for the wine aficionado with varied tastes. Adjust the temperature zones independently to accommodate your entire collection. This way, you have ready-to-serve wines in one section and long-term storage in another.

Wine coolers can help you get the most out of your space. Whether you’re looking for a freestanding wine fridge that stands out in any kitchen, an integrated wine fridge that blends in with your other appliances, or an under-counter wine fridge that saves counter space, we’ve got you covered.

What temperature should a wine cooler be?

Storing your wine at the right temperature is essential to enjoy all the complex flavours and aromas of your wine. So, whether you enjoy red or white, wine should be stored at 12°C -14°C. Wine coolers can also bring your wine to the ideal serving temperature. If you’re indulging in rosés and whites, the best temperature is 8°C – 14°C, and for sparkling wines, 6°C-  10°C. The correct serving temperatures for full reds are 16°C – 18°C, while lighter reds are better at 13°C – 16°C.

What are the best wine coolers?

Whether you select one of our freestanding, integrated, or under-counter wine coolers, you can be sure that all our wine fridges are specifically designed to preserve your finest wines in perfect condition.

Our most popular range is the under-counter wine cooler, specifically the Wi3125 model. Accommodating Bordeaux, Burgundy and Champagne bottles, this beloved wine fridge hosts a plethora of features. Packed with functionality, this charming built-in model includes; no-frost cooling technology, touch controls, and a slimline design, making it a perfect fit for any lifestyle kitchen.

What is the quietest wine cooler?

All our wine coolers: under-counter, built-in and freestanding range from 38dB[A] to 40dB[a]. Quieter than refrigerators and significantly quieter than normal conversation levels of 60dB[A]. So, whether you work from home or desire a serene space, your wine cooler won’t disturb the peace.

What is the best way to store wine bottles in my wine cooler?

Store your wine bottles horizontally in your wine fridge to keep the cork moist. A dry cork can result in seepage or oxidisation of the wine. Lying the bottles flat also ensures you make the best use of the wine cabinet space and ease of removal.

Can I fit champagne bottles in my wine cooler?

All our wine coolers are designed to store the universally standard 750ml Bordeaux-shaped bottle to maximise bottle storage capacity. However, if you are happy to reduce capacity slightly, the shelves can fit Champagne bottles. You can also store larger bottles by simply removing a shelf to accommodate them. Please note that the 150mm wine cabinets are unsuitable for champagne bottles.

What else can I store in my wine cooler?

Our wine fridges can store a wide range of beverages. So, whether beer is your drink of choice or you prefer a selection of chilled juices for the summer BBQ, all our wine cabinets feature removable and optional extra shelves to convert into a drinks cooler.

Can you put a wine cooler inside a cabinet?

Integrated wine coolers can be installed inside a cabinet for a seamless aesthetic. It is essential that the correct ventilation is used in the cabinetry. Use a plinth grille to ventilate from the plinth line, and consider venting from the top of the unit.

Wine coolers generate hot air; therefore, the air can’t escape without the correct ventilation. The hot air must be dispersed back into the room to prevent the wine cooler from failing.
